Nightingale Day Nursery is an independent, 24-place, family run nursery, offering quality childcare for children from 18 months to 5 years old. We are open from 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday, 38 weeks a year*. We are OFSTED registered and our latest report (November 2017) is available to view online here

Since opening in January 1997, we have developed a strong reputation in the local area, highlighted by the fact that many of our places are filled through word of mouth. Our staff team is made up of qualified and highly experienced nursery nurses and first aiders. Our ratio of staff to children is always kept well within the legal requirements.

We provide equality of opportunity for all children regardless of race, religion or gender.

We are a five minute walk from New Barnet station, which offers a direct link to Kings Cross and Moorgate stations. We also have ample free private parking for our parents.

*Following school term times as closely as possible.

Our primary aim is to provide a safe, nurturing environment, and we strongly believe children thrive whilst learning through play and exploration. Play is one of the most important factors in a child’s life. Through play they develop physical and intellectual skills, social and emotional attitudes and language abilities. We give the opportunity to experience a wide variety of activities, from messy play to role-play!

We offer a programme of activities arranged around ‘The Early Years Foundation Stage’, written by the Department for Education, for children aged from 0-5 years.

We use an online learning journal called ‘Tapestry’ which records all the learning and fun of children’s early years education. The unique journal is shared online with parents who are able to see special moments through photos and videos and view their child’s progress. It provides an excellent link between home and nursery as parents can share photos, videos and their knowledge of their child at home.
